I enjoy and have worked with a variety of breeds, issues and temperaments but I find my favorite clients and cases to be:

Herding Dogs

Herding dogs are exceptionally intelligent, intuitive, sensitive, and deeply aware. Many people are drawn to them for these very traits, yet they often struggle with their dog for the same reason. Through owning two herding breeds and working with many more, I’ve developed a true appreciation for these dogs and a deep understanding of how to work with their instincts rather than against them.

We have an anxious border collie and our trainer Sadler worked very hard to make her comfortable and responsive to commands.
Our dog Lucy struggled with walking and car reactivity which Sadler fixed very quickly. She used to spin in circles and bark at cars as well as pull on the leash and chase after anything moving. We didn't think Lucy could ever get to the point where she didn't react at all to cars and other distractions. Within the 6 sessions we signed up for, Sadler worked magic on our dog and we are now able to walk her on trails and take her to new places without worrying about how she will react.

Yes your dog CAN do both! In my years of working with dogs, I find that variety of experiences, situations and environments make the biggest difference in quality of life. Don’t expect one of these without the other!

With an over-excited dog, novelty can add to the excitement, as well as lack of clear boundaries, and too many ‘free’ resources.

With anxious dogs, they get stuck in routines and can’t handle anything new.

By teaching them how to go more places politely, they can have more freedom, more confidence and a fuller life!

If you are struggling with a reactive dog…. It’s important to control their access to the window and window barking. You can do this by: closing doors, closing windows, crating your dog or keeping them in sight while you are home!

When teaching a dog to swim, every dog may be a little different! Forcing some dogs too soon could cause more aversion to swimming. Make sure you know how far to push them and when to stop, so you end on a high note!
